About Us

What We Do

Fulcrum Therapy gets people up on horses not to ride, but to help them develop the physiological and sensory systems at the heart of everyday life.

Our clients enjoy this form of occupational therapy, and we enjoy witnessing the results: better balance, increased coordination, and improved attentional skills.

Fulcrum Therapy teams — therapist, horse, leader and sidewalker — are specially trained to provide a safe and beneficial therapy environment.

She has been using hippotherapy as a treatment strategy since 2001.

Frequent Questions

When does therapy take place?

We regularly provide hippotherapy from April into November. At the stables with indoor facilities, we are able to offer services year round. Consultation, as well as home- or school-based therapy are not limited by season or weather.

What happens if the weather is bad?

As we work outdoors, bad weather does result in cancellations from time to time. Excessive rain, wind or temperature extremes can prevent sessions from taking place. Weather cancellations do not result in charges to the participant.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellations due to appointments, illness or unforeseen circumstances require a phone call to the therapist with at least 2 hours notice to prevent a cancellation fee.

Is Fulcrum Therapy insured?

Fulcrum Therapy is insured both for equine activities and for therapeutic treatment. In addition, the stables carry insurance.
